you
are directed to refer to paragraph 200 of the Rules and Regulations for Her Majesty's Colonial Service.
When I am supplied with particulars of the further Resort you now propose to make to H.E. The Field Marshal Commander in Chief,
I shall be enabled to judge whether it is of sufficient importance to require the Consideration of Her Majesty's Secretary of State for the Colonies.
I may be permitted to observe that had you not, without any permission, habitually absented yourself from your seat in the Executive Council to which you are appointed by Her Majesty's Royal Instructions to the Governor,
You would have been in a position to ask for, and receive explanation on your present letter and on other subjects regarding which you have fallen into misapprehension and thereby entailed unnecessary correspondence with Her Majesty's Secretaries of State for War and the Colonies.
